Provably Fair Crypto Casinos
Which ones run it, what it guarantees, and the check that settles it
“Provably fair” is the only claim in online gambling you never have to take on trust. Every other assurance — a licence, an audit badge, a review score, including ours — asks you to believe someone. This one hands you the arithmetic.
It also gets stretched. Operators put the label in a footer while most of the games behind it are third-party slots that cannot be provably fair at all. Below: who runs it, what it covers, and how to check a round yourself in about two minutes.
What the label covers — and what it does not
Before your round, the casino generates a server seed and publishes its hash. You supply a client seed. The outcome comes from hashing the two together with a round counter. Because the hash was published first, the casino cannot change the seed afterwards without breaking it — and because you control your half, it cannot pick a seed that suits a known client value.
What it guarantees: the result was fixed before you played, and you can recompute it.
What it does not guarantee: a low house edge, a valid licence, that withdrawals get paid, or that the game is worth playing. A provably fair game with a 10% edge is provably fair and still a bad bet.
The four-step check
- 1. Find the fairness settings. If a casino has no page showing your current server seed hash, client seed and nonce, the label is decoration — stop here.
- 2. Set your own client seed. Anything you choose. If you cannot change it, the scheme is not complete.
- 3. Play, then rotate the seed. Rotating forces the casino to reveal the server seed it committed to.
- 4. Recompute a round you remember. Feed the revealed server seed, your client seed and the nonce into a calculator. The output must match what you saw.

The remaining 11 casinos we review run slots and live tables without in-house provably fair originals. That is not a mark against them — it means the fairness question there is answered by licensing and RNG certification instead, and you evaluate it differently.
Verifiable is not the same as measured
Provable fairness tells you a round was not tampered with. It says nothing about how a game behaves over thousands of rounds. That we measure separately, from recorded bet feeds:

Both operators run the same provably fair game with the same house edge, and the numbers differ because players there pick different mine counts and cash out at different points. Fairness is a property of the round; these figures are a property of the crowd.
Provably fair dice, blackjack and the rest
Dice is the cleanest case: one seed pair, one number, one comparison. It is also where the gap between “verifiable” and “profitable” is starkest — the roll is honest and the 1% edge is still there on every bet.
Blackjack can be provably fair when the shuffle is derived from committed seeds, so the card order is fixed before the deal. Live-dealer blackjack from a studio cannot be: there are no seeds, only a camera and a licence.

Common questions
What does provably fair actually guarantee?
That the result of a round was decided before you played it, and that you can prove this afterwards. The casino publishes a hash of a server seed in advance; combined with a client seed you control, it produces the outcome. Once the server seed is revealed you can recompute every round. It does not guarantee a low house edge, a licence, or that withdrawals will be paid — those are separate questions.
Which crypto casinos are provably fair?
Provably fair applies to a casino's in-house "originals" — dice, mines, plinko, crash, limbo. Of the 20 casinos we review, 9 run provably fair originals. Third-party slots from providers like Pragmatic Play or Hacksaw are not provably fair anywhere: they use certified RNGs audited by a lab, which is a different guarantee.
Is provably fair dice really fair?
The roll is verifiable, yes — you can recompute it from the seeds. But verifiable and profitable are different things: dice still carries a house edge, usually 1%. Provably fair means the casino cannot change the outcome after you bet, not that the odds favour you.
Is there provably fair blackjack?
Some crypto casinos run blackjack as an original with a shuffle derived from committed seeds, so the card order is verifiable the same way a dice roll is. Live-dealer blackjack streamed from a studio is not provably fair — there are no seeds to check, only a camera.
How do I verify a round myself?
Rotate your client seed in the casino's fairness settings, which forces the old server seed to be revealed. Take that server seed, your client seed and the nonce of the round you want to check, and run them through a provably fair calculator. If the output matches what you saw, the round was honest.
